ABOUT THE ROLE
Belliveau Veinotte is looking for a friendly, capable and highly organized Administrative Assistant and Receptionist to join our team in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
As one of the first people our clients and visitors meet, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, professional experience. You will also provide practical administrative support to our team, helping the office run smoothly and ensuring important details are handled accurately and on time.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys helping people, takes pride in producing accurate work and can calmly manage several competing priorities. Because we are a public accounting firm, some responsibilities are seasonal and deadlines are particularly important during our busiest times of year.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Your responsibilities will include:

Welcoming clients and visitors and assisting them in a friendly, professional manner
-
Answering, screening and directing telephone calls
-
Responding to general inquiries by telephone, email and in person
-
Scheduling appointments and meetings while helping to avoid conflicts
-
Preparing meeting rooms and assisting with meeting arrangements
-
Typing, scanning, organizing and assembling client reporting packages
-
Assisting with financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns, information slips and other client documents
-
Electronically filing documents and tax returns as directed
-
Preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
-
Maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
-
Receiving, sorting and distributing mail
-
Maintaining contact lists and other administrative records
-
Arranging travel, accommodation and reservations when required
-
Helping to maintain office procedures
-
Acting as a point of contact for internal and external clients
-
Anticipating administrative needs and helping colleagues and clients have a seamless, positive experience

Completing other administrative duties as assigned and required
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
You will be well suited to this position if you have:

Previous administrative or reception experience, or relevant education or training

Excellent client service and interpersonal skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent keyboarding and general computer skills

Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

The ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently

Experience working in an accounting, legal, financial or other professional-services office would be an asset, but is not required.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established, highly collaborative tax team with strong technical depth, experienced mentors, and room for future advancement.
As our Tax Manager, you’ll work closely with Partners and a skilled tax group to manage complex engagements, deliver proactive planning and advisory services, mentor team members, and build trusted client relationships. The role includes work in corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning, shareholder remuneration strategies, and tax planning for owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
What you’ll bring:

CPA designation in good standing
-
2 years experience in Canadian tax or registered in or willing to complete the In-Depth Tax program.

Strong experience advising owner-managed businesses
-
Excellent communication, mentorship, research, and client relationship skills
