About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Technician with 2-3 years of experience (or more) to join our existing team in our office in beautiful Chester, Nova Scotia.

  • Preparation and/or review of personal tax returns when required

  • Preparation of trust returns when required

  • Preparation of T5s when required

  • Preparation of Notice to Readers and Review engagements

  • Preparation of financial statements for above engagements

  • Preparation of corporate tax returns

  • Attendance of AGM for review engagements when required

  • Review of Notice to Readers and Review engagements working paper files prepared by other staff members

  • Mentoring/coaching of junior staff and facilitating training sessions

  • Meeting new and current clients to determine services required

 

Requirements

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation and membership in good standing

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Client and file management skills

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Good teamworking ability

 

Working Conditions

  • Full time, salaried position with flexible hours

  • Health coverage and wellness benefits upon completion of probationary period

  • Office environment with the ability to work from home a couple of days a week, after probationary period

  • We consider work/life balance to be an important part of our culture, so although we’re extremely busy from January to June, we work reduced hours from July-December

  • Salary commensurate with experience
